The works to resurface the Boulevard and subsidiary roads will commence in late April 2021 and will be carried out by Griffiths Civil Engineering & Construction on behalf of Lovell and Tirion Homes.
The works are scheduled to last approximately 8 weeks, subject to prevailing weather conditions. To accommodate the works there will be some temporary road closures, diversions and traffic lights in place (which will be clearly signposted), but pedestrian and emergency access to properties will be maintained at all times.
Unfortunately, these measures may cause some disruption and inconvenience to road users, we, therefore, ask that you take the ongoing works into consideration if you are planning a journey during this period to avoid any delays. You may also be required to park your vehicle(s) in another area temporarily.
Moving forward, Lovell’s presence on-site will reduce now that almost all their units are sold. As such, we invite all residents to continue to visit our website and follow the Mill Living team on social media for updates on the Mill including community events, works updates, Neighbourhood Watch and more.
Thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation whilst these essential works are completed.
We will update this webpage every week with the latest information.
Update for week commencing 19/07/2021
The road resurfacing will now take place from 26th July. Please find below a letter from Griffiths who will be carrying out the work:
We are writing to inform you that Griffiths will shortly be undertaking the final resurfacing works to the carriageways on The Mill Housing Development.
To accommodate our works, there will be a series of temporary road closures commencing on Monday 26th July 2021 for approximately 5 days, at different times and in different locations. The temporary road closures will be in place under four phases, as outlined below:
- Phases 1&2 – Pwll Coch Street followed by Stryd Elai from the tabletop leading up towards and including the junction of Trem Yr Afon (26th July 2021 – 1 day closure)
- Phase 3 – Stryd Elai from the tabletop down leading onto the Main Boulevard and towards, but not including the Heol Y Morfa junction (27th & 28th July 2021 – 2 day closure)
- Phase 4 – Heol Y Morfa junction and the Main Boulevard for the remaining section, leading up to but not including the junction onto Paul Williams Walk (29th & 30th July 2021 – 2 day closure)
During each phase, we respectfully ask that you refrain from parking in our working areas whilst these works are taking place. Vehicular and pedestrian access to the carriageways and parking bays will be restricted however, please be assured that pedestrian access to properties will be maintained. Should any journeys need to be made during each phase, we advise that vehicles are parked outside of the closure. We also advise residents to place their waste bins at the end of the closures on bin days, to ensure they are collected. Please note – there will be diversion routes in place that will be clearly signposted, and all works are weather dependant.
Should you have any questions or concerns in relation to our works or would like a copy of the official diversion routes, please contact our Public Liaison Officer Georgie Davies. Georgie can be contacted between the hours of 08.30 and 17.30 Monday to Friday via telephone on *0330 0412 183. If you are calling outside these hours, or if Georgie is unable to answer, please leave a message. Alternatively, you can email Georgie at email@example.com
We would like to take this opportunity to thank residents for their patience and cooperation whilst we undertake these works.
